Description
The republican government of the United States of America is constitutionaly bound to keep a complete separation between Church and State. The fathers of the nation were positive in securing it, for they knew too well the evil results of the union of Church and State, which characterized the nations for centuries and millenia past. However, the principle of separation between Church and State has been attacked by the evangelical churches, and Congress did not stand up to defend the Constitution, but rather yielded to them.
