The Story of the Seer of Patmos was originally written by Stephen N. Haskell in 1905, and has proved a rich blessing to many. Let us remember, however, that truth is progressive. The brightest light heralded by those who have gone before us becomes a stepping stone for us to new and brighter light. The understanding of prophecy and Biblical interpretation of our pioneers was a brilliant light for the time in which they lived, and has laid a sure foundation for the heavenward-progress of God’s people today, yet even greater light and understanding has since been provided. Every small detail of the prophetic interpretation, dates, etc. contained in this book may not be absolutely correct according to our understanding today. We have not republished this book with the intent to prove or promote a particular understanding of prophecy or Biblical interpretation, but rather to bring attention to Haskell’s insights into true education, to the dealings of God with His people, and to the beautiful spiritual lessons contained in the book of Revelation. These provide valuable lessons which we would do well to apply today. It is the earnest desire of the publishers that each reader may carefully study to know for themselves what is truth.
